TVS is reportedly planning to launch a brand-new electric scooter in India during the festive season (October–November) later this year. This upcoming model will be positioned below the existing iQube range, making it a more affordable option in the company’s EV lineup.

New TVS Electric Scooter Launch in Diwali 2025: TVS Motor Company is gearing up for an exciting year, with a lineup of new two-wheelers set to make their debut in the Indian market. Among the highlights is the brand’s foray into the middleweight adventure motorcycle category with the upcoming RTX 300, expected to launch later this year. Also in the pipeline is a more powerful 150cc version of the popular Ntorq scooter, aimed at performance enthusiasts.

But that’s not all—TVS is now working on an all-new entry-level electric scooter, and it’s set to hit the roads just in time for the Diwali festive season in October–November 2025.

The new electric scooter will be slotted below the iQube in TVS’s EV lineup, targeting cost-conscious buyers who are looking for an affordable way to transition to electric mobility. With an expected starting price of just ₹90,000 (ex-showroom), this scooter is likely to become one of the most budget-friendly electric options on the market.

For comparison, the TVS iQube currently ranges from ₹1 lakh for the 2.2 kWh variant to ₹2 lakh for the top-spec model with a 5.1 kWh battery.

The upcoming e-scooter is rumored to feature a 2.2 kWh battery—or perhaps even a slightly smaller one—offering a practical range of around 70–80 km on a single charge. Like the iQube, it will likely use a hub-mounted motor sourced from Bosch, ensuring reliability while keeping production costs low.

However, don’t expect flashy tech or premium features. To keep the scooter affordable, TVS is expected to stick with a clean, no-frills design and essential functionality—ideal for daily urban commuting.

Jupiter EV or XL EV? The Name’s Still a Mystery

While TVS has not officially announced the name, industry buzz suggests it could be called the Jupiter EV, building on the strong recognition of the Jupiter brand. TVS recently showcased a CNG-powered Jupiter concept at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, showing its intent to diversify under the same nameplate.

Another theory is that the new scooter could be an electric version of the XL moped, one of TVS’s most iconic and affordable models. Supporting this speculation, the company recently filed trademarks for “XL EV” and “E-XL,” hinting that the beloved utility-focused moped could soon go electric.

TVS entered the electric space in 2020 with the launch of the iQube. Fast forward to May 2025, and the brand has climbed to the top of the sales charts, delivering nearly 20,000 electric scooters in a single month, making it India’s leading EV scooter manufacturer.

The company’s premium electric model, the TVS X, began deliveries earlier this year after its initial launch in August 2023, further expanding TVS’s electric portfolio.

With this new entry-level electric scooter, TVS aims to cater to a broader audience and tighten its grip on the rapidly growing EV two-wheeler market in India. Whether it ends up being named Jupiter EV, XL EV, iQube Lite, or something entirely new, this launch is bound to shake up the affordable EV space.

Stay tuned—Diwali 2025 might just bring the perfect spark to India’s electric mobility revolution.
